All counselors and therapists associated with CFGC
must meet high professional standards. Each must have a Master’s
degree or higher and be recognized as a legitimate mental health
professional by one of the following state licensure committees:
• Professional Counselors
• Clinical Social Workers
• Psychologists
• Marriage & Family Therapy
• Board of Registered Nurses
CFGC therapists are also members of the American Association of
Christian Counselors or other similar alliances for Christian professionals.
In addition to having a record of academic and professional excellence,
CFGC counselors and therapists must be born-again, spirit-filled
believers, demonstrating a strong personal relationship with Christ.
Each must be a strong defender of the faith, skilled in the knowledge
of God’s Word and always ready to “speak the truth in
love.” CFGC counselors must also be actively involved
in their local church body and have the respect and recommendation
of pastoral leadership within the community.
